Irish Festival Is Returning To Ludlowe Field
FAIRFIELD â Family fun and entertainment will highlight the 14th annual Fairfield County Irish Festival Friday, Saturday and Sunday, June 15-17, at Roger Ludlowe Field. Festival hours are Friday, 6 to 11 pm; Saturday, noon to 11 pm; and Sunday, noon until 8 pm.
The entertainment will include traditional Irish music and ballads, polkas, Irish dancers, bluegrass music, rock ân roll bagpipes, Irish jeopardy and cultural displays. All activities will take place in tents, so the event will be held rain or shine.
A special childrenâs tent will provide rides and entertainment for the younger set. Several local organizations will provide food and refreshments. A wide range of Irish merchandise will be available for shoppers in the Vendorsâ Tent.
Pub Tent entertainment includes Sean OâNeill, Spirit of Gilbride, a group of four sisters and a brother from the Bronx aged 13 to 23 years, Once Removed, Avoca, The Irish Band, Bold Fenian Men, Con and Judy, and Batch and OâRourke.
Admission is $7 per day. Three-day passes are $12. Children under 16 are admitted free when accompanied by an adult. The festival is accessible from Exit 21 off I-95.
