William Sears

William “Butch” Sears, 54, of Southbury, died May 23 at Waterbury Hospital.

Mr Sears was born November 22, 1946, in Bridgeport, son of William Sears and the late Anna (Magliochetti) Sears. He grew up and spent most of his life in Newtown before moving to Southbury. He was a crew chief for the Newtown Highway Department, with which he worked for over 28 years.

In addition to his father of Georgia, he is survived by his girlfriend, Ingrid Berquist of Newtown; a son, William Louis Sears of Waterbury; a daughter, Kimberly Del Vento of Sandy Hook; two brothers, Howard Sears, Sr, of Georgia, and Albert Sears of Naugatuck; a sister, Mildred Sears-May of Kentucky; a grandson, Anthony William Del Vento of Sandy Hook; and several nieces and nephews.

A graveside service was held on May 26 at Pine Hill Cemetery in Southbury.

The Southbury Funeral Home of Munson-Lovetere, 235 Main Street North, Route 6 and 67, was in charge of arrangements.
