Thankful For Support

To The Editor:

I am deeply grateful to everyone who participated in the Democratic Caucus this past Tuesday. Your presence, your energy, and your confidence in my candidacy mean so much.

I am especially moved knowing that many of you came despite significant personal challenges — health concerns, disrupted travel, demanding family responsibilities, and circumstances I may not even be fully aware of. You showed up anyway. That kind of commitment is not lost on me, and I carry it with me as both an honor and a responsibility.

What we have built together is more than a campaign. It is a demonstration that this community responds to something better — to principled campaigning, genuine service, and people who care deeply about the future of Newtown. That spirit has shown up not just in the caucus results, but in the way you have contributed to the community through this campaign: cleaning up our roads, collecting food for neighbors in need, and rolling up our sleeves for the community we love. Making Newtown better is what this is about.

Although Tuesday night was specifically for the Democratic endorsement for the State House of Representatives seat for the 106th district, this campaign is for all of Newtown. If you did not vote for me on Tuesday, or if you have not yet been part of this conversation, consider this my invitation to join me — at events, in conversations with neighbors, and in continuing to build the kind of campaign that welcomes everyone in. We will keep serving this community as we campaign, because that is who we are. What unites us as neighbors is far greater than what divides us.

I also want to be honest. Staying positive is our north star, but there will be times when drawing a clear contrast with my opponent is necessary — because voters deserve to understand the real differences in vision and approach. When those moments come, I will address them directly and respectfully.

That is the foundation on which we will win in November — and it is the standard to which I will hold myself in office. Thank you for showing up — for Newtown, and for me.
