On Saturday, June 19, Newtown Woman’s Club will host an author/book signing lunch with special guest Nan Rossiter.

The event will take place at My Place Restaurant, 6 Queen Street. It will begin at noon.

Rossiter is a New York Times and USA Today best-selling author. Her latest release, Promises To Keep, was published in April.

Rossiter is a 1986 graduate of Rhode Island School of Design, where she earned a degree in illustration. She began her writing career in children’s books. Along with her many contemporary fiction novels, she is an author and illustrator of several children’s books, including Rugby & Rosie, which won Nebraska’s Golden Cower Award, and a retelling of Henry Beston’s 1928 book as The F’o’c’sle, Henry Beston’s Outermost House.

Her seventh novel, Summer Dance, won the 2018 Nancy Pearl Book Award.

Rossiter lives on a quiet country road in Connecticut with her husband and a solemn black lab named Finn. She and her husband are the parents of two handsome sons who have struck out on life journeys of their own.

Rossiter has been a popular guest of the Newtown Woman’s Club for previous author events.

Tickets for the June 19 event are $25, which covers a full lunch including a soft drink, and the event including book signing opportunities.

Lunch choices are a half-chicken salad sandwich, with a side green salad or half ham, cheese, tomato, lettuce with honey mustard sandwich, with a side green salad.

Reservations are due by Tuesday, June 15, at noon.

Contact Marie Sturdevant at 203-740-2733 or Marg Studley at 203-426-3651 to make a reservation.

Fresh off the release of her latest novel, Nan Rossiter will return to Newtown next month for an author luncheon hosted by the Newtown Woman’s Club. —Harper Paperbacks illustration
