Monsignor William Loughlin

Monsignor William Loughlin, 87, of Trumbull died May 26 at St Joseph’s Manor in Trumbull. He was born in Wharton, N.J.

His many friends, especially Joe and Mary Mitchell of Bridgeport, survive him.

He was a graduate of Seton Hall University where he received both his BS and MA degrees. He received his master of divinity degree from Pope John XXIII National Seminary. He was ordained to the priesthood in 1969, and served as an assistant pastor at St Rose Parish in Newtown.

Monsignor’s body will be received at St Bridget of Ireland Church in Stamford, Monday, June 2, at 4 pm. He will lie in state until the Vigil Mass at 7 pm. A Mass of Christian Burial will take place Tuesday, June 3, at 10 am, at St Bridget of Ireland Church, 278 Strawberry Hill Avenue, Stamford, with the Most Reverend Frank J. Caggiano, Bishop of Bridgeport as the celebrant. Burial will take place at a later date in St Mary Cemetery, Dover, N.J.

Larson Funeral Home, 2496 North Avenue, Bridgeport, is in care of arrangements.
