To the Editor:

The ribbon-cutting ceremony for the Inclusive Playground at Dickinson Park is scheduled for this Saturday, June 4, at 10 am.

The Newtown Lions Club raised the funds to place three pieces of wheelchair-accessible playground equipment adjacent to the existing Fun Space structures. The objective was to enable all children, regardless of physical ability, to play together.

There will be entertainment for the children and free ice cream for all from 10 am to noon.

Unfortunately, weather has delayed the installation of the rubberized surfacing material so access to the new playground equipment will be limited for several days to allow proper curing. However, the ribbon-cutting ceremony will proceed as scheduled and the existing playground equipment will be available for use by all.
