Newtown High Golfers Compete In Postseason

Newtown High School’s boys’ golf team placed sixth at the South-West Conference championships at Ridgewood Country Club in Danbury on May 27.

Brian Leblanc and Rob Marona had great performances at the Chappa Invitational in Westport on Thursday, May 26. The Chappa is a two-person best ball competition and the Newtown duo combined for a score of 71. They started the competition with a triple bogey as a team, and ended the tournament at 3 over par. They had three consecutive birdies on the back nine.

Leblanc, a freshman, and Chris Erikson, a sophomore, were recognized at the SWC Tournament on the All Division Team. They were both in the top 12 for the division differential scores.
