On Wednesday, June 11, the ongoing series The Joy of Art with Joy Hoffman at C.H. Booth Library will host a special guest: children’s author and illustrator Lizzy Rockwell.

Ms Rockwell is the illustrator of numerous books and games for children, and is the author and illustrator of Good Enough to Eat, Hello Baby, The Busy Body Book and Plants Feed Me.

Since their first collaboration in 1989, Ms has worked in collaboration with her mother, author/illustrator Anne Rockwell, creating Apples and Pumpkins, Career Day and Presidents’ Day, among other titles.

Ms Rockwell conducts frequent presentations and workshops at schools and libraries and is the artistic director of Peace of Piece, The Norwalk Community Quilt Project. Her 28-foot-long mural is installed in the pediatric waiting room of Norwalk Community Health Center in Norwalk.

Ms Rockwell has two grown sons, and lives in Bridgeport with her husband, Ken Alcorn.

For the Booth Library programs, Ms Rockwell plans to read Plants Feed Me, and also talk about how she works on writing and illustrating books for children. A book signing will follow, and copies of Ms Rockwell’s books will be available to purchase.

Two one-hour programs are scheduled, with one starting at 2 pm and the other at 4. The free programs are suitable for ages 3–8 and their caregivers.

The library is at 25 Main Street. Registration can be done at online at CHBoothLibrary.org; additional information is available by calling 203-426-4533.

Lizzy Rockwell, the author and illustrator of Plants Feed Me, and other books for children, will offer two free programs at C.H. Booth Library.
