Joanne (Signore) Didonato, 67, of Oxford died peacefully surrounded by her family on June 1, in the Vitas Unit at St Mary's Hospital. She was the devoted wife of Russell Didonato.woundedwarriorproject.org.maioranofuneralhome.com.

She was born on March 25, 1949, in Waterbury, daughter of the late Alma (Bass) and Stephen J. Signore. She was a graduate of John F. Kennedy High School, Class of 1967, and was the secretary at Sandy Hook School for more than 28 years.

Ms Didonato was a fun, vivacious lady who enjoyed cooking for her family and taking trips to the casino. She was completely devoted to family and, most of all, she loved being a grandmother.

In addition to Russ, her husband of 42 years, her daughters, Jessica Williams, and her husband Clarence, of Sherman and Stephanie Murzin, and her husband Daniel, of Beacon Falls, and her grandson survive her. She also leaves behind several cousins in Connecticut and in Kentucky, as well as many friends. Her son, Andrew Didonato, and her brother, Stephen Signore, predeceased her.

Family and friends may call at the Maiorano Funeral Home, 95 Willow Street, Waterbury, Saturday, June 4, from 9 to 11 am. Burial will follow in All Saints Cemetery, Waterbury.
