The Sandy Hook Organization for Prosperity (SHOP), in partnership with Sandy Hook Wine & Liquor and other local distributors, is proud to present the second annual silent auction and wine tasting. This year’s event — Saturday, June 15, beginning at 7 pm — will benefit FAITH Food Pantry and Newtown Scholarship Association.

The event will be held at Sandy Hook Volunteer Fire & Rescue’s main station, 18 Riverside Road.

A portion of the event proceeds will also benefit SHOP, to support their block parties and other events held in downtown Sandy Hook to support local businesses.

Attendees will taste local food from Sandy Hook restaurants including figs, the recently opened Foundry Kitchen & Tavern, The Iron Bridge, Sandy Hook Deli & Catering, The Hook, The Villa Restaurant, and Village Perk, another new Sandy Hook establishment. Sandy Hook Wine & Liquor will provide a selection of wines and exotic beers.

Guests will enjoy live entertainment by John Voket. Special guest, actress and singer Maggie Pangrazio will add beauty and vocal brawn to Mr Voket’s music.

The event will also feature artwork painted by local artist Jim Chillington. During the winter months following the tragedy of 12/14, Mr Chillington felt compelled to paint local scenes of historic Newtown landmarks and iconic scenes of downtown Sandy Hook. Passersby may have seen him painting his oil in canvas works in front of Sabrina Style, the Pootatuck River and Edmond Town Hall, among other locations.

In addition to artwork by Mr Chillington, attendees may bid on items donated by local restaurants and businesses.

Chaired by local business owner Sharon Doherty and SHOP member Maribeth Hemingway, the events hopes to draw people out to enjoy good food, wine and music with good friends while benefitting a worthy cause.

Tickets are $30 each and can be purchased at any downtown Sandy Hook merchant or by calling Ms Doherty at 203-948-1688.
