Circus

The fifth grade students at Middle Gate Elementary School went on a field trip to the Ringling Brothers and Barnum & Bailey Circus on May 11 at the Hartford Civic Center.

Each class had about 5 or 6 chaperones to make the visit to the circus a safe trip. This visit reinforced our studies of vertebrates and invertebrates, Newton’s Laws of Motion, cooperation, practice, teamwork, and patience, which the fifth grade teachers encourage their students to use in their everyday lives.

The fifth grade teachers came up with this awesome trip. Amanda Norling of Mrs Ambrosio’s class said, “I loved the elephants and tigers best because you don’t see those every day.” Other students also enjoyed this trip. The fifth grade teachers hoped that this trip to the circus would be fun and a learning experience and their wish came true!
