CT Trails Day Hike At Brunot Preserve, June 7

Residents of all ages are invited to take a hike on Trails Day 2014 on June 7, from noon to 3 pm, at Brunot Preserve.

Participants will enjoy a guided, approximately 3½-mile hike at the Newtown Forest Association (NFA) property, walking through forest and meadow areas. Bring water, bug spray, sun protection, and good shoes.

To get to the preserve, take Sugar Street (Route 302) toward Bethel and turn right at the traffic light onto Taunton Hill Road. Continue about .8 mile and park at the NFA sign on the left. From the Main Street flagpole, turn onto West Street, and then turn right onto Castle Hill Road. Continue straight at first stop sign, then bear left at second, onto Great Hill Road. Follow to four-way intersection, and take a left onto Taunton Hill Road; parking will be approximately 0.7 mile, on the right.

An annual event, The 22nd Annual CT Trails Day weekend on June 7-8 is being celebrated with at least 258 events statewide.
