The final meeting of the season for Genealogy Club of Newtown will be Wednesday, June 11, at 7 pm. The meeting and program will be in the meeting room of C.H. Booth  Library, 25 Main Street in Newtown.

For those needing assistance with a genealogy problem, the Help Desk will be open at 6:45.

This month’s speaker will be Audrey DeBlasio, treasurer of the club. Her topic will be “How to Make a Family Legacy DVD.”

Ms DeBlasio will walk through the process of taking the factual pieces of genealogy research that have been gathered, and then combining them with family photos and videos to make a family history story come alive. These steps will help to preserve family memories to share, providing a legacy for generations to come.

A short business meeting will follow the program, which will include nominations for the club’s officers.

Light refreshments will be served.

The Genealogy Club of Newtown is open to researchers of all interests and levels. The Booth Library Genealogy Room is open to those researching, with a dedicated computer to aid in searches.

One most Mondays, Harlan Jessup, a professional genealogist and member of the Newtown club, is available for help between 2 and 4 pm.

The club meetings on the second Wednesday of the month, September through June.

For additional information call Bea Morgan at 203-304-1861 or Mr Jessup at 203-426-3981.
