The Newtown High School boys' lacrosse team, the No. 12 seed in the Class L State Tournament bracket, fell 8-4 at No. 5 Simsbury in the second round, on May 29.

Nate Pickard, Brady Macey, Marcus Gerace, and Charlie Massett all scored, and Marty Dunn had a pair of assists. Macey had six ground ball scoops and Asher William had five ground balls. Goaltender Blake Ballard made 13 saves.
