Responding To Dr Magnan On Guns

To the Editor:

In my view, Dr Magnan in last week’s Newtown Bee Letter Hive blamed the culture of women who have abortions for the rash of shootings in the US.

He wrote that, “None of these ‘walking time-bombs’ had ever received any mental/emotional school training that would have provided an effective ‘perceptual processing platform’ that could analyze/identify probable consequences of their actions that would deprive victims the right to live.”

He wrote shooters “... continue to accept the right to destroy the fetus they carry believing that it’s a woman’s right.”

These are the same people who blame guns not shooters, he says. He may have hit on something. If we just have redline laws that take guns away from women who have had abortions and keep them off the streets, gun violence would be practically gone.

After all, if you look at the 200 or so mass shootings this year, they were practically all done by women who have had abortions.

To stop a bad guy with a gun, what we need is more good women who haven’t had an abortion.
