‘Memory Of Water’ Auditions With Town Players

Director Mary Poile will conduct auditions for The Memory of Water on Monday and Tuesday, July 8 and 9, at The Little Theatre in Newtown. Ms Poile will then serve as director for the production of Shelagh Stephenson’s comedy drama, which will be presented during the weekends of September 6-28.

The Memory of Water presents the story of three northern England sisters, who have returned home to plan the funeral of their mother, Vi.

Mary, the eldest, is a doctor who is having an affair with Mike, also a married doctor who hosts a local TV show. Teresa, the middle daughter, along with her husband Frank (Andy Gwyn), owns a health food store. Youngest daughter, Catherine, meanwhile, cannot seem to find the right man or the right path for her life.

There are openings for four women ages 30s to 40s and two men in their 40s.

The theater is on Orchard Hill Road, off Route 25/Main Street South. Contact Ms Poile at 203-938-4468 or leave a message at the theater, 270-9144, for additional information.
