Household Hazardous Waste Drop-Off In Bethel, June 12

A household hazardous waste drop-off event will take place Saturday, June 12, from 9 am to 1 pm, at Bethel High School, 300 Whittlesey Drive, Bethel.

Residents of Newtown may bring accepted items to this event, as can residents of Bethel, Brookfield, Bridgewater, Danbury, Kent, New Fairfield, New Milford, Redding, Ridgefield, Sherman, and Weston.

You must remain in your vehicle at all times and keep windows rolled up. Items you want removed should be placed at the back of your vehicle. Workers will remove the items. Place driver’s license against window for proof of residency.

Items that are accepted include paints, stains, and varnishes; furniture and floor polishes; rug and upholstery cleaners; flea powder; moth balls; dry cleaning solvents; lighter fluids; engine degreasers; waste fuels; and airplane glue.

Motor oils and antifreeze; empty aerosol cans; smoke detectors; controlled substances; pharmaceutical or medical wastes, and electronic are among the items that will not be accepted.
