Choral Society Sing-Ins At Trinity

The Connecticut Choral Society together with the Association of Connecticut Choruses will sponsor a sing-in featuring Charpentier’s Messe de Minuit pour Noel  and  Poulenc’s Gloria  on Thursday, June 27,  from 7 to 9:30 pm. The event will take place at Trinity Episcopal Church, 36 Main Street in Newtown (opposite the flagpole, at the top of Church Hill Road).

John Robert Liepold will conduct, the accompanist will be Stephen Rapp, and Michele McBride  will sing the soprano solo.

Christie Davey, president of the CCS said: “If you sat entranced at the chorale society’s performances of the Charpentier this December, or if you went to Carnegie Hall on June 10 to hear the CCS and the Los Angeles Camerata joined by other choruses sing the Poulenc, now is your chance to sing along with this esteemed group in performances of these special works.

“The sing-in is just that, an opportunity to experience the thrill of singing great music with a superb chorus and its conductor just for the pleasure of it,” she explained. “We welcome [anyone who enjoys singing] to join us at this first of two summer sing-ins.”

Registration and music pickup is at 7 pm, and singing will take place from 7:30 to 9:30._The registration fee is $7 for regular participants and $5 for members of the Association of Connecticut Choruses.
