Willie Lancaster and Frank Lancaster banged out four hits apiece to lead Hurd Construction to a 10-6 win over Inn at Newtown last weekend in Sunday Slo-Pitch Softball League action.

Michael Lancaster and Jim Muraski also played superb defense while Bill Girard (3-for-3 with five RBI) pitched a solid game. For Inn, Jim McKee was 3-for-5 with a homer and three RBI while Eric O’Donnell was 4-for-5. Jim Dudeck and John Grimaldi collected three hits apiece.

In other action, the Inn at Newtown scored five runs in the 10th inning and defeated Botsford Drive In, 25-21, as Rick Kasbarian belted a pair of homers – the second in the top of the ninth to tie the game. Chris D’Angelo was 6-for-7 with three RBI as every batter banged out at least three hits to fuel a 37-hit attack. Botsford also collected 36 hits of its own, with Carl Strait going 5-for-6 and Keith Brown going 4-for-6. Ryan Morrow’s two-run single sent the game into extra innings.

And Greenleaf Tree Services defeated G&H Tools, 17-11, as Brennan Fraczek belted his first home of the season, going 3-for-4 and driving in four RBI. Chad Eaton and Brian Cascone each went 3-for-4, driving in one run apiece. Greenleaf scored nine runs on 10 hits in the bottom of the seventh to rally for the win.

Greenleaf also defeated the Hammerheads, 24-15, as CJ Baranowski belted a pair of home runs, going 4-for-5 with six RBI. Steve George was 4-for-4 and Frank Durante was 3-for-5 with three RBI in the win.

Greenleaf also defeated Hurd Construction recently, 10-5, scoring eight runs in the eighth inning to rally for the win. John Pavia was 3-for-4, Chad Eaton was 2-for-3 with a triple, and Terry O’Conner was 2-for-3 with two RBI. For Hurd, Bob McHugh was 3-for-4 with a pair of RBI.

Botsford Drive In clipped the Hammerheads, 19-11, after rallying back from a six-run deficit in the final two innings.

BDI_scored four runs in the eighth inning and two more in the ninth to tie the game and send it into extra innings. Then it scored eight runs in the 10th to put the game away.

Carl Strait banged out four hits and drove in five runs. Dave Bambino, Joe Rich (HR)_and Matt Gee had three hits apiece.

For the Hammerheads, Paul Babbage had four hits and Frank Boucher contributed three hits.

R. Corbo homered and George tripled twice to lead Kellogg’s Hardwood to a 16-4 win over Hotshots in Weeknite Slo-Pitch Softball. Kris Svensson banged out a pair of hits for Hotshots.

In other action:

Cross Hill 22, NGFL 13 – Carlo was 4-for-5 with a homer and Jim M. was 5-for-5 to pace Cross Hill. For NGFL, Paul was 3-for-4 with a homer.

Church Hill 23, DMG 11 – M. Lynch was 3-for-4 with a pair of homers and Rob Frangione was 3-for-3 to lead Church Hill. Williams was 3-for-4 to pace DMG.

Kellogg’s Hardwood 21, DMG 7 – Chris Kachur, Jim Pope and Chris Dennis had three hits apiece to spark the Kellogg’s offense. For DMG, Ed was 3-for-3.

Hotshots 15, Cross Hill 3 – John G. and Tom B. collected three hits apiece to lead Hotshots while Ray and Scott collected two hits apiece to lead Cross Hill.

Hotshots 12, OMC 6 – Rick Kasbarian and Doug B. had three hits apiece to power Hotshots to the win. Doug Otten was 4-for-4 to pace OMC.

Hotshots 15, My Place Pizza 3 – Gene was 4-for-4 and Pete was 3-for-4 with a homer to lead Hotshots over My Place. For My Place, Rich and Lou banged out three hits apiece.

OMC 14, DMG 2 – Jubba had two triples and Teo was 3-for-3 as OMC defeated DMG. B. Cascone homered for DMG.
