Linda R. Shannon

Linda R. Shannon, 44, formerly of Fort Lauderdale, Fla., and most recently Winchester, N.H., died June 17 in Keene, N.H.

She was born in Queens, N.Y. on May 21, 1958, daughter of Jack Rosensweig and Selma (Solomon) Rosensweig.

On November 21, 1992, she married James S. Shannon (formerly of Newtown) in Fort Lauderdale, Fla.

She is survived by her husband, James; her children, Amber L. Kelly, Andrew J. Shannon and James P. Shannon, all of Winchester; her parents, Jack and Selma Rosensweig of Sunrise, Fla.; brothers, Joel Rosensweig of Sunrise, Fla., and Steven Rosensweig of Ocala, Fla., and several nieces and nephews, including Debra and Kevin Raymond of Winchester. She was predeceased by her sister Karen Hanson in 1995.

She worked in the Data Entry Department of National Grange Mutual in Keene, N.H. and was a dedicated employee of American Express in Fort Lauderdale for 18 years before moving to Winchester.

Mrs Shannon enjoyed time alone with her family, bass fishing, and was a fan of I Love Lucy. She was also an excellent card player, and loved gardening.

Her sharp wit, intelligence, and selfless generosity will be sorely missed.

Burial was in St Rose Cemetery, Sandy Hook, on June 20, with a graveside service by the Rev Steven Gordon.

Donations in her memory may be made at the Bank of New Hampshire, 30-80 Warick Road, Winchester, NH 03470 for trust funds for James and Andrew Shannon.

O’Connor-Carr Funeral Home in Winchester was in charge of the arrangements.
