Serge P. Champagne

Serge P. Champagne, 80, of Sandy Hook, passed away on June 16, in Danbury, Conn.

Serge was born in Ville Lemoynes, Quebec, to Joseph and Laurette (Gravel) Champagne on November 29, 1940. He went to school at Bassick High School in Bridgeport, Conn. He married Dorothy on March 26, 1960, in Bridgeport. Serge worked as an electrical equipment installer for Lucent Technologies for 40 years and served in the Army. He loved fishing in his retirement, keeping his boat in Long Island Sound, and loved working around the yard.

Serge is preceded in death by his parents, Joe and Laurette; his sister Carole Marsala; and his grandson, Michael Sclafani.

Serge is survived by Dorothy, his wife of 61 years; his children, Wayne Champagne and Monica Sclafani and son-in-law, Charlie; his brothers, Claude, Roche, and Alain, and his sister Lola, and their spouses; grandchildren, Julianna, Carina, and Dominic, and many nieces and nephews.

Funeral services were held privately.

The family of Serge wishes to extend our sincere thanks to all his family and friends for their help during his illness and to the doctors and staff at Danbury Hospital for all the care that they gave him.
