Lawrence R. Gaynor, Sr

Lawrence R. “Tiff” Gaynor, Sr, 73, of 12 Alberts Hill Road, Newtown, husband of the late Mona (Donaldson) Gaynor, died at his home on June 26.

Mr Gaynor was born in Norwalk November 3, 1928, son of the late Ambrose and Mary (Slattery) Gaynor. He attended Norwalk schools and graduated from Norwalk High School, where he was well-known as an outstanding athlete. He served in the US Navy during World War II and worked in sales of paint products.

Mr Gaynor is survived by his son, John L. Gaynor of Newtown, with whom he made his home, and his son, Lawrence R. Gaynor, Jr, of Canaan; a brother, Donald D. Gaynor of Norwalk; and four grandchildren, Justin, Luke, Tyler, and Kyle Gaynor.

Cremation will take place at the convenience of the family.

Interment services will take place at St Peter cemetery, Danbury, on June 29 at 11:30 am.

Green Funeral Home, 57 Main Street, Danbury is in charge of arrangements.
