To the Editor:

I retrieved the mail from our mailbox today, brought it in the house and was pleasantly surprised to see the front of The Newtown Bee in living color!

The beautiful front page photo of the quaint red building with the bee weathervane, the clock and flagpole, that is part of the charm of Newtown, brought my hometown newspaper to a new dimension … like when Dorothy opens the door and finds that she is in Oz and is in awe of the beautiful colors.

I have enjoyed The Newtown Bee for as long as I can remember. For years I would pick up the weekly issue of The Bee on my way to dance class at the Edmond Town Hall.

Years later when I moved out of Newtown my folks gave me a gift subscription to The Newtown Bee.

My Dad (Grandpa Dan Del Vecchio) continues to give me a subscription to The Bee, which I look forward to receiving and reading each week. I truly enjoyed all the beautiful color photos along with all the stories throughout the entire issue that keep me connected to Newtown.

Congratulations to the Smith Family for 145 years of publishing a wonderful newspaper! I look forward to receiving The Newtown Bee in my mailbox for many more years.
