Free Skin Cancer Screening

NEW MILFORD –– On Saturday, July 27, from 9 am to noon, New Milford Hospital and Dermatology Associates of Western Connecticut will sponsor a free skin cancer screening. The screening will take place at the New Milford Hospital-Columbia-Presbyterian Regional Cancer Center.

According to the American Academy of Dermatology, skin cancer is the most prevalent of all cancers. Estimates vary on its occurrence, but it is estimated that approximately 700,000 Americans develop skin cancer every year. Fortunately, skin cancers are relatively easy to detect and most can be cured. Even malignant melanoma, if caught in its early stages, can be treated successfully.
