*Hope no one drove all the way to Uncasville last Friday night for the ROBERT PLANT show… which had to be postponed less than 12 hours before showtime due to illness.

A new date will be announced as soon as possible, of course. Hang on to your tickets in the meantime.

*Tickets will be going on sale Friday, September 16, at 10 am, for a show that will be attractive to fans of EARTH, WIND & FIRE and/or professional figure skating.

***Note, however, that tickets are already being presold through the arena and can be ordered before their regular on-sale date until July 30. Visit the arena’s website, www.ArenaAtHarborYard.com, click on Upcoming Events, scroll down to the show’s listing and then click on the logo for the show. On the page that opens, look for Ticket Info and then click on “downloading this form” for the early tickets.

“Earth, Wind & Fire Tribute on Ice” will be at The Arena at Harbor Yard on Saturday, November 12. EW&F will be performing a full concert accompanied by Olympic and National Figure Skating champions. The skating will be headlined by Olympic gold medallist Brian Boitano and will additionally feature the Olympic skaters Brian Orser, Nicole Bobek, Caryn Kadavy, Shae-Lynn Bourne, Jenni Meno & Todd Sand, Renee Roca & Gorsha Sur.

The show will be taped for television and is supposed to be broadcast on NBC on Saturday, December 17, at 4 pm.

Whether purchased in advance or after September 16, tickets for this event range from $45 to $95. Tickets will be available in September from the arena’s box office and from any TicketMaster vendor.

*THE MARSHALL TUCKER BAND is coming to The Ridgefield Playhouse for Movies and the Performing Arts next week.

Tickets for Wednesday, July 6, are still available and are priced at $45 and $50 apiece. AZTEC TWO-STEP, “two guys with acoustic guitars and a knack for tight harmony,” will be opening.

The next concert at the playhouse is BLUES TRAVELER on July 24 (tickets are $50 and $55), and then next month the theater will host JEFFERSON STARSHIP/JEFFERSON AIRPLANE (original Starship members Mary Balin and Paul Kantner will be joined by David Frieberg of Jefferson Airplane, with other special guests) on August 9 (tickets are $60 and $70), and then JOAN ARMATRADING on August 26 (tickets are $65 and $70).

Tickets for all of these shows are on sale through the theater’s box office, which is open Monday through Friday from 9 am to 4 pm and at least 30 minutes prior to any performance. Call 203-438-5795 or visit www.RidgefieldPlayhouse.org for additional information.

*Hey folks, I am outta here! Until next week, when I’m back from the road, I’ll be seeing ya!
