Many Good Samaritans

To the Editor:

On June 15, my wife and I were driving north on Route 34 in Newtown near Berkshire and Zoar Roads and were involved in a serious one-car accident.

When the accident happened, we were attended to by many good Samaritans who extended help. One especially notable and kind was a man named Jeff Nickse, whom, I have learned, is a former resident of Newtown. I am so very grateful to him for how he cared for and encouraged my seriously injured wife. I wish to commend two Newtown police officers at the scene, Officer Amity Robinson and Officer Richard Robinson. A number of emergency personnel, whom we do not know, but to whom we are most grateful for help and service, professionally performed. There were a number of strangers who also stopped to help.

Whatever I might say about the help extended is inadequate but — a loving thanks to all of you who were so very helpful to two whom you did not and do not know.

Sincerely,

Charles L. Flynn
