Garner Inmate Charged

With Assault At Prison

State police report they received a call from Garner Correctional Institution on the afternoon on June 22, reporting an incident involving a prisoner and a correction officer.

State police said that inmate Jerome Riddick, 25, allegedly spat on a correction officer.

Riddick was charged with assault on public safety personnel and with failure to submit to fingerprinting.

Riddick was scheduled for arraignment on the charges on June 23 in Danbury Superior Court. Riddick is serving a seven-year sentence in Garner on a drug crime conviction.
