All town offices will be closed on Tuesday, July 4, in honor of Independence Day.The Newtown Bee will be affected. As announced recently, items for the Business, Education, Enjoy, Health, Real Estate, Religion, and Sports sections were due by 5 pm Friday, June 30.

Newtown Senior Center, C.H. Booth Library, and the transfer station also will be closed on Tuesday.

There will be no regular mail delivery/pickup or retail services for the United States Postal Service on Tuesday, July 4.

The Bee offices will also be closed on Tuesday. We will reopen on Wednesday, July 5.

Readers are reminded that editorial and advertising deadines for the July 7 issue of

Deadlines for the general news pages (A section), including letters to the editor and for calendar listings, will remain 3 pm Wednesday, July 5.

The deadline for Real Estate display advertising was Friday, June 30, at 10 am. Regular display advertising must be in the office by 10 am Monday, July 3. For in-column advertising, Real Estate Classified ads must be received by Monday, July 3, at 10 am. The deadline for regular Classifieds remains 3 pm Wednesday, July 5.
