Her children and their spouses, Marianne Corbo of Sandy Hook, Phyllis D'Ettore of New Fairfield, Judith and Charles Reisel of Hawley, Penn., and Martin and Gordon Pizzuti of Pocono Lake, Penn., survive her. She is also survived by six cherished grandchildren and their spouses, Raymond and Elaine Corbo of Newtown, Jennifer and Jon Del Pozo of Newtown, Joseph Corbo of Chicago, E.J. and Amy D'Ettore of Wolcott, Michael and Heidi D'Ettore of Fort Mill, S.C., and Dale and Jazly Pizzuti of West Palm Beach, Fla.; 15 great-grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews.

Mrs Enke was a graduate of Mamaroneck High School.

She married Dominick Pizzuti on October 27, 1940. They settled in his hometown of Mount Vernon, N.Y., and resided there until 1967 when they moved to Danbury. They moved to Brooksville, Fla., in 1974, where she received certifications as a teacher's aide and nurse's aide. After Dominick's death in 1978, she moved back to Danbury and was very active with the Cellmates band. It was there that she met her second husband, Ed Enke, and they married in 1986. They entertained for many years at Danbury's nursing homes and were volunteers at the Daily Bread Pantry. Mrs Enke continued to entertain after Ed's death in 1997. She was also a member of the Germantown Volunteer Fire Department Auxiliary, a part-time cafeteria worker at Danbury High School, and a teacher's aide for three years in the CEATA program.

Mrs Enke will be greatly missed by her family, who are grateful that she lived a long, full, and active life, and for the memories she left that will live on.

She loved to dance, sing, play tennis, and write stories, plays, and poems. She leaves a book of poetry dedicated to her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.

Her family would like to acknowledge the wonderful health care workers and staff at Glen Hill for their compassionate and loving care of Mrs Enke while she was a resident.

A memorial service will be conducted Saturday, July 8, at 10:30 am, at St Peter's Church, 121 Main Street, Danbury. Interment will be private.
