LEGAL NOTICE

NOTIFICATION OF

AQUATIC TREATMENT

LAKE ZOAR - MONROE,

NEWTOWN,OXFORD,

SOUTHBURYIn accordance with CT DEEP,Pesticide Division notification requirements, selected areas of LakeZoar will be chemically treated with Reward (Diquat) herbicidetargeting control the aquatic nuisance plants Eurasian watermilfoiland curlyleaf pondweed.

The treatment is tentatively scheduledfor Wednesday July 14, 2021 (with a rain date of Thursday, July 15,2021). Prior to treatment, the lake shoreline (in thetreatment areas and at public access sites) will be posted withprinted signs in accordance with DEEP requirements.A map showing the specifictreatment areas will be posted at the State Boat Ramp and at otherpublic access sites, prior to treatment. The shorelines of treatedareas will be posted with signs that list the following temporarywater use restrictions to be imposed in treated areas: norestrictions for swimming, boating and fishing in treated areas; nouse of treated lake water for drinking purposes for 3 days, no useof treated lake water for livestock or domestic animal consumptionfor 1 day, no use of treated lake water for irrigating turf orornamentals for 3 days, no use of treated lake water for irrigatingfood crops or production ornamentals for 5 days. These temporarywater use restrictions apply only to the areas treated and affectedby treatment. Information on the specific date of application maybe obtained from the person named below.
