To The Editor:

It was a privilege to work with Flagpole Photographers and especially Chane & Rhonda Cullens on “Newtown in 1776, Celebrating the Nation’s 250th Anniversary,” currently in the Newtown Municipal Art Gallery.

Chane and Rhonda’s photographs of houses that were built before 1776 are the centerpiece of the exhibit

And we thank the eight Flagpole Photographers Camera Club members who contributed another 107 photos of Newtown for this exhibit.

We were delighted to add photographs of Newtown by Bill Glass, the grand marshal of the 2026 Newtown Labor Day Parade.

Finally, we have to especially thank Ben Cruson, the town historian, for his list of houses built before 1776.
