Francis Lebinski

Francis "Fran" J. Lebinski, 87, of Stratford, beloved husband of Elizabeth Slovensky Lebinski, died July 2, in his home. He was born in Bridgeport on February 10, 1930, son of the late Josephine (Maliszewski) and Joseph Lebinski and had been a lifelong area resident.

In addition to his beloved wife of 62 years, his devoted sons and their wives, John and Brenda Lebinski of Sandy Hook and Paul Lebinski and Karen Evans of Beacon Falls; three cherished grandchildren, Victoria, John, and Sofia, all of Sandy Hook; his brother, Joseph Lebinski of Fairfield; one niece, and one nephew survive him.

In addition to his parents, his son, Francis Lebinski, Jr, and his special cousin predeceased him.

He was a graduate of Roger Ludlow High School, Fairfield, and he was a retired foreman for Raymark. Mr Lebinski was a US Marine Corps veteran of the Korean War, receiving the Korean Service Medal, UN Service Medal, Purple Heart, and the National Defense Service Medal.

Mr Lebinski played softball for the Raybestos Cardinals, playing for six years and earning two National Championships; he was a member of the ASA Major Fastpitch Softball League, playing on various teams for more than 20 years. Mr Lebinski was inducted into the Connecticut ASA Hall of Fame in 1991. He enjoyed coaching his sons' baseball teams and attending his grandchildren's sporting events. He was an avid gardener and enjoyed the time spent with his family at their summer home in Lake St Catherine, Vt

Funeral services are private and have been entrusted to the Adzima Funeral Home, Stratford.
