Joseph Kordish

Joseph H. Kordish, 80, of Stratford, beloved husband of Sylvia Sernak Kordish, died July 8 in Bridgeport Hospital. He was born in Hazleton, Penn., on March 19, 1937, son of the late Elizabeth (Olenik) and John Kordish and has been a longtime area resident.

In addition to his beloved wife of 54 years, his devoted children and their spouses, David and Victoria Kordish of Sandy Hook, Carolyn Kordish of Stratford, and Christopher and Susan Kordish of Massachusetts; four cherished grandchildren, John, Kayla, Annmarie, and Sophia; and a brother-in-law, Joseph Sernak and his wife Ruth of North Carolina, survive him.

Mr Kordish was a US Army veteran and was retired from Sikorsky Aircraft in Stratford.

He was an avid fisherman and enjoyed watching football, especially the Pittsburgh Steelers. He was a member of the Our Lady of Grace Men's Club and was a longtime volunteer for The Kennedy Center.

Friends may call on Tuesday, July 11, from 4 to 7 pm, in the Adzima Funeral Home, 50 Paradise Green Place, Stratford.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11 am on Wednesday, July 12, meeting directly in Our Lady of Grace Church, 497 Second Hill Lane, Stratford. Interment will be in Gate of Heaven Cemetery, Trumbull.

In lieu of flowers, those desiring may make donations in Mr Kordish's memory to The Kennedy Center, attn: Development Department, 2440 Reservoir Avenue, Trumbull CT 06611.
