Anyone craving a slice of southern cooking up north needs look no further than Texas Roadhouse, located at 74 Newtown Road in Danbury.

The Danbury restaurant opened in June of 2017 and is one of the chain’s three local locations.

Managing partner Matthew Rusinko and store marketer Loren Daly lead Texas Roadhouse in being a casual, energetic, family-friendly spot for patrons to enjoy.

With the recent passing of its founder and leader, Kent Taylor, Texas Roadhouse in Danbury is committed to continuing his legacy of “Legendary Food and Legendary Service” and community involvement.

The restaurant, Daly said, strives “to be the best, cleanest, and friendliest in town.”

Whether diners are looking to have a meal indoors, outdoors, or taken to-go, Daly says Texas Roadhouse continues to serve up its signature “legendary food and service.”

That means fresh, never-frozen ingredients; sides made from scratch; hand-cut steaks; and an on-site meat cutter “in a room cold enough to snow,” Daly adds.

For takeout, customers can order online and using the restaurant’s mobile app or at the new take-out window.

Legendary service does not end there, as community involvement is always important for Texas Roadhouse through fundraisers and community partners.

A Sample Of The Menu

Starters: The Cactus Blossom is Texas Roadhouse’s signature appetizer. The Combo Appetizer lets customers pick three from a menu of wings, fried pickles, twisted mozzarella, snake bites, or potato skins.

Combos: The Grilled BBQ Chicken & Ribs meal served with a choice of two sides.

Burgers and Sandwiches: Texas Roadhouse uses tender, slow-cooked pork covered in the restaurant’s signature BBQ sauce for its pulled pork sandwich. Another standout is the Smokehouse Burger, made of half a pound of fresh ground chuck topped with sauteed onions, mushrooms, BBQ sauce, American cheese, and jack cheese. Both sandwiches are served on a toasted Texas-sized bun with steak fries and pickle chips.

Salads: Of the more than half a dozen salad options, there is the Steakhouse Filet Salad with Italian and blue cheese dressing, topped with blue cheese crumbles, bacon bits, tender filet strips, tomatoes, red onions, and croutons. It is also served with a side of creamy blue cheese. The Chicken Critter Salad has hot, crispy strips of chicken on a bed of cold greens with cheddar and jack cheeses, tomato, egg, and bacon.

Country Dinners: The Country Fried Sirloin consists of hand-battered, fresh-cut sirloin that is cooked crispy and golden, then topped with cream gravy. It is served with two sides.

Hand-Cut Steaks and Ribs: Texas Roadhouse has sirloin starting from six ounces, and fall-off-the-bone ribs. On Wild West Wednesday, there are shrimp and steak specials available.

Chicken: Chicken Critters are all white meat chicken tenders that are golden-fried and lightly crispy. The herb-crusted chicken is boneless, marinated chicken breast that is seasoned with a blend of herbs and spices, before being flame-grilled and served with a caramelized lemon. Both meals are served with two sides.

Kids’ Meals: Tuesday is Kids’ Night with $1.99 kids’ meals and $4.99 “Ranger” meals. The Lil’ Dillo Steak Bites are grilled filet pieces served with one side and a kid-sized soft drink, juice, or milk.

Sides and Extras: All the sides are made from scratch, and there are fresh rolls and honey cinnamon butter.

Beverages: On a hot summer day, popular drinks are the fresh-brewed sweet tea and Legend Margarita.

Dessert: Treats include a Big Ole Brownie Sundae, strawberry cheesecake, and Granny’s Classic Apple Pie.

For Home: Texas Roadhouse wants everyone to celebrate the summer with Texas Roadhouse’s Legendary food. The restaurant offers hand-cut steaks for family and friends to enjoy from home with Ready-To-Grill Meat Bundles that are fresh cut every day.
