Grateful Gatherings: Gratitude In Action
Grateful Gatherings are monthly meetings hosted in Newtown by Donna Vella. The gatherings use robust materials provided by Grateful Living. Gatherings provide community connection, invigorating reflection and conversation, and practical tools for living a meaningful and flourishing life. They are open to anyone seeking inspiration, resources, and fellowship for living life with purpose and joy.
This month’s gathering is “Gratitude in Action.” Attendees will go to Real Food CT’s farm on Friday, July 31, 8 am at Catherine Violet Hubbard Animal Sanctuary, 8 Commerce Road. Real Food CT believes everyone deserves access to healthy, nutritious food. Its mission is to tackle food insecurity by connecting regional farms — including their own — to provide fresh produce for vulnerable populations while strengthening the local food system through education, partnerships, and volunteerism.
Together, attendees will spend the morning working in the gardens, helping grow food that will nourish neighbors. Whether someone is an experienced gardener or simply willing to lend a hand, they will discover the joy of working together in service of something bigger than oneself. In tending the garden, attendees will sow seeds of connection, purpose, and gratitude that flourish long after the work is done.
No gardening experience is necessary — just wear comfortable clothing, closed-toe shoes, and bring a water bottle.
Please note that all registered participants will receive a confirmation email on July 30 with final details. If extreme heat is forecast, the start time may shift earlier (as early as 7 am).
