Newtown Parks & Recreation has announced the cove at Eichler’s Beach in Sandy Hook and most playing fields are closed for Monday, July 18.

The closure of the town beach is due to inclement weather, according to an email issued by the Town department earlier this morning.

Mid-Monday afternoon, Parks & Rec also announced that all Town of Newtown grass playing fields would be closed due to heavy rain.

The turf fields at Treadwell Park on Philo Curtis Road have also been closed due to the precipitation.

Parks & Rec additionally announced Treadwell Park pool would be closing at 3 pm Monday. Torpedoes Recreational Swim Team practice is canceled.
