Registration is now open for fall programs at Two Coyotes Wilderness School, a nonprofit organization with locations in Newtown, West Granby, and Killingworth. Programs in Newtown are held at Sticks & Stones Farm, 197 Huntingtown Road.

Fall registration opened July 18, and Two Coyotes Wilderness School reports that there has been an unprecedented interest in its school programs this year.

Enrollment will remain open until August 14. After that date, the school will make commitments to its staff based on enrollment at that time. School administrators may cancel sessions with low enrollment, combine age groups, or make other modifications as needed, according to an announcement. Scholarship applications are included in the registration form for each program, which are available online at twocoyotes.org.

New health and safety protocols are in place due to the ongoing pandemic. Full details on these protocols are available online at twocoyotes.org/covid-19-program-updates. The protective measures include no overnight or other community-wide events this fall; staff/adults will wear masks; it is optional for students to wear masks and maintain social distancing within groups; new drop off and pickup protocols; hand-washing throughout the day at “nifty tippy tap” stations; more cautious weather cancellation policies to limit indoor time; flexibility to convert programming online in the event that in-person programs are canceled for reasons beyond the school’s control; and maintaining a refund policy, regardless of whether programming is offered in person or online.

The Two Coyotes Wilderness School staff is committed to working with families to get kids outside, connecting to nature, community, and themselves in whatever format is possible, according to the announcement.
