Rosenthal On Vacation

With First Selectman Herb Rosenthal out of town this week, Selectman Joe Bojnowski has assumed the duties of the town’s chief elected officer.

On Tuesday, Mr Bojnowski stopped by the first selectman’s office at Edmond Town Hall to sign some papers. For the most part, however, he is able to remain at home where he is within a phone call’s distance of the office staff.

“Jan, Carole, and Mary take care of things pretty well here,” Mr Bojnowski said. “Plus it’s calm and quiet during the summer months. Nobody seems to be around.” According to the town statutes, the first selectman must appoint one of the town selectmen to serve as the town’s leader while he is out of town for an extended period of time or if he should become incapacitated. Being Mr Rosenthal’s fellow Democrat on the board, Mr Bojnowski was the logical choice.

Mr Rosenthal and his wife, Michelle, are currently on vacation in the South, stopping off to visit Mr Rosenthal’s daughters in Atlanta and Virginia, as well as a trip to the Naval Academy in Annapolis, Maryland, and to Charleston, South Carolina.
