Martha Fortier

Martha J. Fortier, 53, the widow of Paul H. Fortier, of 7 Arbor Drive, Dover, N.H., died July 26 at Wentworth-Douglass Hospital, Dover, following a brief illness.

Born in Bridgeport, she was the daughter of the late Boyd E. Sr and Genevieve M. (Adomaitis) Saxton.

She was a graduate of Newtown High School, Class of 1968, and she earned her associate’s degree from Hesser College.

Mrs Fortier was employed by the University of New Hampshire Hospitality Services.

She moved to Dover in 1980 with her USAF husband from Columbus, Mo.

Family members include one daughter, Michelle R. Fortier of Dover; one son, Michael D. Fortier of North Berwick, Maine; one brother, Boyd E. Saxton, Jr, of Sandy Hook; two sisters, Letha M. Travis of Nottingham, N.H., and Vicki S. Saxton of Oxford; several nieces and nephews, grandnieces and nephews; several very special friends; and a huge extended family.

The funeral service was held July 29 in the Tasker Funeral Home, Dover, N.H., with the Rev David Thompson, retired Methodist minister, officiating. Burial was July 30 at Huntingtown Cemetery, Newtown.
