Opera House On ‘Center Stage’

Local public access producer Gene Rosen has created a new program that highlights the wealth of live theater in the area.

The new show, Center Stage, is designed to highlight “the unique and fascinating history as well as current productions of local theater in Charter’s viewing domain,” Mr Rosen said. Center Stage is the latest project for Mr Rosen, who lives in Sandy Hook.

The next episode will present an interview with Jeffrey P. Dunn, the executive director of Thomaston Opera House. The program will run on Charter Communications Channel 21 on Monday, August 4, at 8 pm, and Wednesday, August 6, at 1:30 pm.

Center Stage debuted in April with a program that featured Evelyne Thomas, a director and producer for The Town Players of Newtown. Subsequent episodes have featured members of TheatreWorks New Milford, Kent Community Players, Musicals at Richter in Danbury, Main Street Theatre Company in Woodbury, Seven Angels Theatre in Waterbury, and most recently, former Newtown educator Linda Benedetto, who discussed “The Power of Drama in The Educational Setting.”
