Warrant Arrest

While on patrol duty about 11:45 pm July 25, police spotted Tony Schick, 22, of Danbury at the Mobil gas station at 62 Church Hill Road and then confirmed that police held an outstanding warrant for his arrest.

Police charged Schick with violation of probation, after which they held him in custody on $20,000 bail for a July 26 court appearance.

Youthful Offender

While on patrol about 11:30 pm July 29, police stopped a motorist on Queen Street for the improper display of a rear marker plate.

While investigating the incident, police used their German shepherd to sniff the exterior of the stopped vehicle, after which the dog indicated that there were drugs inside the auto, police said.

On looking inside the vehicle, police found a soda can with a false top, which they removed and found to be concealing a bag of marijuana.

Police charged the male driver with improper display of a marker plate, possession of less than four ounces of marijuana, and possession of drug paraphernalia.

Because the youth who was arrested is either 16 or 17 years old, he is considered a “youthful offender” and thus not identified by police.

Police released the youth on a written promise to appear August 17 in Danbury Youthful Offender Court.

Incident

On July 25, police arrested a local man on a warrant in connection with an incident that occurred in early July.

After posting $25,000 bail, police released Daubert for a July 26 appearance in Danbury Superior Court.

State police charged him with driving while under suspension and with driving an unregistered motor vehicle. After posting $500 bail, state police released Caraballo for an August 6 court appearance.

Convertible Vs SUV

Police report a two-vehicle accident on Boggs Hill Road at its intersection with Sugar Street (Route 302) about 8:24 am July 27.

Motorist Christopher Reseska, 43, of 22 Beaver Dam Road, who was driving a 2007 Chevrolet Tahoe sport-utility vehicle northward on Boggs Hill Road, stopped for a stop sign at that intersection and was struck from behind by northbound motorist Michelle Russo, 52, of 56 Platts Hill Road, who was driving a 2006 Toyota Solara convertible, police report.

There were no injuries. Police gave Russo a written warning for driving an unreasonable distance apart.

Dodgingtown Collision

About noon July 28, motorist Meaghan Dawley, 17, of 10 Jangling Plains Road, who was driving a 2001 Chrysler Sebring convertible, entered the parking lot at Dodgingtown Market at 57 Dodgingtown Road (Route 302), police said.

Dawley’s vehicle was then struck and damaged by the driver of a gray pickup truck, who then drove away from the scene, police said. Dawley was not injured, police said.

The truck, which has a utility body, had Connecticut marker plates and bore decal of a pine tree on its left door, police said.

Police are investigating the collision and ask anyone with information about who was driving that truck to contact Officer Steve Ketchum at 426-5841.
