Newtown Parks & Recreation has announced the early closure today of Eichler’s Cove.

The beach each at 11 Old Bridge Road is closed for the remainder of the afternoon due to “chilly temperatures,” according to an email from the Town department issued just before noon.

Tonight’s Thursday Night Summer Series concert by Head Over Heels is not affected, however. The concert was still on, as of 2:30 pm, for this evening.

The show is scheduled for 6:30 to 8 pm at Dickinson Town Park. The concert will be performed from the bandstand, with easiest access from the park’s Deep Brook Road entrance (west of the skatepark).

Admission is free, and picnics are welcome.
