On Assault Charge

On the morning of July 30, state police served an arrest warrant at Danbury Superior Court against a former Garner Correctional Institution inmate in connection with a past unspecified violent incident at the high-security prison at 50 Nunnawauk Road.

State police said they arrested inmate Timothy Kuroski, 42, formerly of Waterbury, on a charge of assault on a public safety officer stemming from a February incident.

Kuroski was arraigned in court on the charge on July 30 and is scheduled to appear in court again on August 13.    

Kuroski, who currently is incarcerated at Northern Correctional Institution in Somers, is serving a nine-year prison sentence on a 2007 conviction for first-degree robbery. Kuroski also was convicted on a charge of risk of injury to a child.
