Chris Shea For Congress

To The Editor:

I first learned about Chris Shea through friends in law enforcement who knew him long before he considered a run for office. They spoke highly of him because of his work with Hero to Hero, the nonprofit he founded to help veterans transition into careers as police officers, firefighters, and EMS personnel.

That work reveals his character. After more than three decades as a Navy SEAL Chris Shea returned to Connecticut, resumed duty as a North Haven Fire Lieutenant, and built a practical pipeline that has already helped dozens of veterans find meaningful second careers in public safety. Those friends saw this firsthand: a leader who understands the job, values those who do it, and follows through without fanfare.

His military record and continued service as a first responder demonstrate the integrity, discipline, and accountability our district needs. He is not a career politician, but a proven problem-solver trusted in high-stakes environments who still serves locally.

Shea’s candidacy for Connecticut’s 5th Congressional District is serious. He has built real campaign infrastructure and raised more than $300,000, establishing himself as a legitimate candidate with the resources to win a competitive race. That fundraising and organization reflect both grassroots support and confidence in his record.

Chris Shea has earned trust through a lifetime of service. I urge readers to learn more about him and support his campaign for Congress, both in the August 11 primary and in November.
