To The Editor:

I am writing in support of Michelle Embree Ku, a longtime friend and neighbor to many of us. By now, I’m sure you have all heard about Michelle’s impressive background, record of accomplishments, and years of advocacy for local families, both here in town and at the state level. If elected, she will be a strong, knowledgeable, and effective voice for Newtown in Hartford.

Whether she is knocking on your door or you run into her at the grocery store, Michelle is someone with whom conversation comes easily, from everyday matters to deeper concerns and broader questions about our community. Her warmth and sincerity are unmistakable, as is her refreshingly down-to-earth nature.

But don’t mistake that warmth for a lack of resolve. Michelle is persistent and determined when it comes to getting to the heart of any issue. She researches relentlessly, approaches people with compassion, and works to understand different perspectives. She has a gift for finding common ground and bringing people together to make progress.

At a time when discussions about our state’s policies and laws are so tense, there is no one I trust more to roll up her sleeves, bridge differences, and get the job done. I am proud to support Michelle Embree Ku to be our state representative for the 106th District.
