Funeral services for former Newtown First Selectman Joseph E. Borst have been scheduled. Mr Borst passed away on March 31, 2020, at Bishop Wicke Health Center, in Shelton.

Friends may call at the Honan Funeral Home, 58 Main Street, Newtown, on Thursday, August 19, from 5 to 8 pm. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated in St Rose of Lima Church, Newtown, on Friday, August 20, at 11 am. Interment with full military honors will follow in St Rose Cemetery.
