Margaret Brusher Forms Partnership
Ann Arbor, Mich. -- According to Margaret Brusher, the Ann Arbor Antiques
Market, celebrating its 30th anniversary year, will continue for another 30
years. Brusher and Tom Monaghan, founder of Domino's Pizza, have signed a
purchase agreement dated January 2, 1999.
The market, which will stay in Ann Arbor, will be separate from Domino's as a
non-profit corporation, with all net proceeds used for educational
scholarships. No major changes will be seen. Brusher, relieved of day-to-day
operations, has chosen management team Nancy and Woody Straub. Brusher will
continue to be involved as an active consultant.
Brusher asks everyone involved to remain in place including her dedicated
staff, the tent and table companies, the Thorton crew, porters, and food
vendors, and all dealers.
"I chose this route because I wanted to be assured the market could stay in
Ann Arbor and I believe in and support the education of children. A large
portion of the proceeds from the sale of the market will establish a
permanently endowed scholarship fund in memory of our son Paul," says Brusher.
"Fred and I have always wanted an orderly transition of management of the Ann
Arbor Antiques Market. We feel this is the best fit possible, and at my age,
the time is right. We thank all of our loyal dealers and customers over the
past 30 years. We all look forward to a successful future."
The schedule for 1999 will be April 17 and 18, May 16, June 20, July 18,
August 15, September 18 and 19, October 17, and November 7.
