St Rose School Addition Approved
The Borough Zoning Commission has approved a request from St Rose Church to
build an addition to St Rose School on Church Hill Road.
Commission members at an October 26 meeting unanimously approved a special
exception to the borough zoning regulations for the expansion project.
St Rose Church plans to build a 2,750-square-foot addition to the east side of
the parochial school. The property is in an R-1 zone.
On October 5, the town's Planning and Zoning Commission endorsed the expansion
project.
Architect John Madzula, reprsenting St Rose Church, told commission members
the planned addition will have the same artchitectural features as the
existing school.
The addition will be used for one classroom and one multipurpose room.
In the future, the church is expected to seek approval to build a
2,500-square-foot to the west side of the school for two classrooms.
The expanded school will provide St Rose's current sixth grade class with
sufficient classroom space when it becomes the seventh grade class in the
1996-97 school year.
