P&Z Picks A New Chairman
The Planning and Zoning Commission (P&Z) has elected John DeFilippe to serve
as its chairman.
Mr DeFilippe, a Republican who lives on Sealand Drive in the borough, replaces
Stephen Adams as chairman. Mr Adams of Sandy Hook resigned from the commission
September 20 after serving almost three years on the panel, nine months of
which he was chairman. In resigning, Mr Adams, a Republican, said he wants to
spend more time with his family and practicing law.
Mr DeFilippe, who works for Reader's Digest in New York State, has served on
the P&Z for several years, initially as an alternate member and then as a
regular member.
The new chairman served as vice chairman for one week before being elected to
head the commission.
Mr DeFilippe's elevation to the chairmanship created a vice chairman's vacancy
on the panel.
Members elected Republican Thomas Paisley of Walnut Tree Hill Road as vice
chairman. Mr Paisley joined the agency in 1995 as an alternate member. He
became a regular member earlier this year.
Both men were elected to their new posts unanimously.
Democrat Heidi Winslow remains as the P&Z's secretary.
