Kids! Like To Write? Share Your Work With The World On The Internet

Do you ever wonder what it would be like to be Lois Lane or Clark Kent -

reporters for a hometown paper? Well, here's your chance.

As a Bee Cool Correspondent Internet reporter, we will provide you with the

tools of the trade: a press pass, a neat pen or pencil (your choice), and a

reporter's notebook. Andrea, one of our staff reporters, will help you decide

what to write about.

Your stories can be just about anything that interests you. You might want to

write about a hobby you have, the tricks your dog performs, what you like best

about visiting your grandparents, how you learned to rollerblade. If you want

to interview First Selectman Bob Cascella or the person who makes bagels at

Bagelman, we'll help you set up an interview.

Stories can be typed or handwritten. And we'll run a drawing (or photo, if you

have one) that goes with your story. Just make sure you keep it under 8« by 14

inches!

All stories will be posted on The Newtown Bee's website, in the great new

section we're starting up for kids. Some of the work will also be put in the

newspaper. First name credits will appear on all work, as well as age and

grade.

We also need kids of all ages to review books for the Bookworm's Treehouse

section of the website. The first 25 kids who participate as a Cool

Correspondent or a book reviewer will receive a free pass to a movie at Edmond

Town Hall. Lots of other prizes and cool stuff will be offered, too!

So talk to your parents and call Andrea at The Bee, 426-3141. Or send us an

e-mail at editor@thebee.com.
